House Concerts
If you've ever thought about hosting a house concert, here's how it works. Jack comes to your place - your living room, backyard, shed, wherever makes sense - sets up, and plays for an hour or so. No big venue, no support act. Just songs and a room full of people you actually like.
How it works
Submit your enquiry
Fill in the form below with your preferred dates, location, and a bit about your space. Jack will get back to you within a few days to check it all works.
Sort out the details
Jack will reply by email to confirm the date and sort out any logistics. Once you're both happy, the deposit locks it in.
Pay your deposit
Once you and Jack have confirmed the date by email, he'll send you a link to pay the deposit. That's what locks the date in.
Invite your people
Sort the drinks, spread the word, and leave the rest to Jack. He'll bring everything he needs.
What it costs
The fee covers Jack's performance, travel from Brisbane, and any accommodation needed. There are two ways to handle it - whatever suits you best.
You cover the fee
You pay the full fee and your guests get a free show. Works really nicely for birthdays, gatherings, or just a great excuse to have people over.
On-sell tickets
Charge your guests to help cover the fee. With 30 guests at $35 each, that's $1,050 - enough to cover a standard show. You handle the tickets; Jack handles the music.
Deposit: A 40% deposit ($400 minimum) is due at the time of booking. The balance is paid on the night. If you cancel, the deposit is non-refundable. If Jack cancels, you get it back in full.
What you need
House concerts work best in spaces that feel lived-in and warm. You don't need a big house - just enough room for the people you want there.
Not sure if your space will work? Send Jack a message and he'll let you know.
Terms & conditions
These are pretty straightforward - the goal is just to make sure everyone's on the same page and the night goes well.
Deposit & payment
A deposit of 40% of the agreed fee is due at the time of booking. The minimum fee is $1,000 (incl. GST), so the minimum deposit is $400. The balance is due on the night, by cash or bank transfer. Easy.
If you need to cancel
The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel, since Jack may have already turned down other work for that date. If you're within 30 days of the show, Jack may need to charge the full fee for the same reason. But honestly, if life gets in the way and you'd rather postpone than cancel, just reach out - Jack will always try to find another date at no extra cost.
If Jack needs to cancel
If Jack cancels for any reason, you'll get your full deposit back within 5 business days. He'll do his best to rebook for another date. (This has never happened, for what it's worth.)
If you're charging tickets
If you're on-selling tickets to cover the fee, that's between you and your guests. The agreed fee is due regardless of how many tickets you sell, and if the event gets cancelled, refunds to your guests are on you. Jack recommends $25-$40 per person as a guide.
On the night
- Jack plays for around 60-75 minutes, with a short break if needed.
- Jack brings his own guitar, microphone, mic stand, and AER amp - good for crowds of 20-80 people. For larger spaces, a PA system may be needed, which Jack will flag before confirming.
- If there's a noise curfew, just let Jack know before the event so he can plan around it.
Travel
Jack is based in Brisbane. Travel is factored into the agreed fee for all dates. If Jack is already touring in your area, costs might come down - that'll be sorted when you confirm the booking.
Photos & video
Guests are welcome to take photos and short clips for personal use. If you'd like to professionally record or film the show, just ask Jack first - he's usually pretty happy to say yes.
